Perlfunc.org aims to be a convenient guide to the standard perl functions. Yes, most of the information available on this site is also available from perldoc.org, and even the perlfunc man pages. However, I envision a nice comment section not unlike php.net's comments on functions. Additionally, URLs to perlfunc.org are much easier to remember.

Partly to track usage, and partly because the most frequently queried functions are looked up for a reason, I have implemented the Top Ten Functions list.

As I have been asked several times about this issue, I have included a why page, describing my motives behind this site.

Credit must be given to whoever originally wrote the perlfunc man pages, as well as the designers behind www.php.net, as I blatently ripped off both of them and changed it to suite my needs and taste.
